We’ll be making arrangements for a first timers event on the afternoon of Monday 25 November from 4.45pm to 5.30pm. Direct transportation to the Welcome Function will be provided immediately afterwards. More details will be shared with you at a later date for your RSVP.

Beach, surf and BBQ, what better way to get the BEIA Annual Conference underway than on the shores of the Tasman Sea and overlooking the stunning Fitzroy Beach? Leave your business wear behind and join us for a super-relaxed evening to kick off your time in New Plymouth. Share a few yarns with industry colleagues, old and new, whilst enjoying a beverage and our BBQ. Keep the clothing choice as casual as you like, but we recommend bringing an extra layer and wearing footwear appropriate for a 3-5 minute walk along the coastal track from the coach to the venue.

Whether it’s ABBA or ACDC, Britney or Bono, Elvis or Elton John, there are 70 years of era defining music artists and iconic looks to choose from to help us celebrate the end to another year in style!

Optional Cultural Walk: Te Ara Puāwai o Te Hēnui - The blossoming pathway of Te Hēnui

Join your guide Rangimokai Knuckey on a relaxed morning walk of the surrounding area as she shares the origin stories and significance of the Te Hēnui stream and local old pā sites.

Date & Time: Wednesday 27 November, 8.00am - 9.00am

Please note: This is a guided walk departing from and returning to The Devon Hotel.

What to wear: Come dressed for the conditions and suitable footwear for a sedate walk. You will return in time for the start of the day 2 conference programme.
